Troubleshooting

- My external disk shows up as 'read only', why?

This is probably since your disk (connected to B3 with USB or eSATA) is formatted with NTFS file system. B3 can't write to that. Re-format the disk from your computer or from B3 to be able to write to the disk from B3.

- Why can't I reach my B2/B3 after a power outage? It seems to boot normally (firm blue light)

Do you use B3 as a server only (behind a router), and have the network settings left at 'auto'? It is possible that your B2/B3 boots faster than your router, and hence don't get a response to the DHCP request fast enough. It then falls back to a fixed IP adress and you won't be able to reach it as you normally do. Just reboot your B2/B3 and you'll be fine, and to prevent this in the future - set it to "Server only" mode, rather than "Auto".

Capabilities

- Is B3 able to play protected content (bought in iTunes with DRM)?

No, unfortunately not because of the DRM.

- Is B3 able to stream iTunes Videos?

Yes, B3 streams iTunes video fine.

- Is it possible to install a different OS, e.g. FreeBSD on your B3?

B3 runs Linux. It is theoretically possible to change the OS to anything else of your choice, but this is quite difficult and requires engineering skills and a lot of work, and is nothing Excito can support.

How do I...

- Listen to music from my B2/B3 on my Android?

Install the DAAP app on your phone/tab, works like a charm. Also, if you want to reach it remotely, forward port 3689 to your B2/B3 in your router (or in B2/B3 directly, if you use it as your router).
